How I Met Her

It was summer when I met her, not that we were strangers,
But there was something different in the air that day.
My eyes were glued to her.
She had little idea that I have fallen for her head over heels.
I spent days wondering if what I had felt was love.
I feared obsession and infatuation could ruin it for me.
And there's nothing such as "love at first sight."
My question remained unanswered initially.
And as I laid it to rest, I realised what it had been.
Farewell, I said to my four friends and chose peace over pain.
And that had made all the difference.
